London's population growth was almost double the rest of the country in 2020-2021. This was due to an influx from Toronto and other areas of Ontario. Dr. Don Kerr, Professor of Sociology, explains in a London Free Press article.

In this CBC article, Dr. Jeff Preston, Assistant Professor of Disability Studies, discusses how the media often views people who have disabilities as being asexual. The article focused on a London man with cerebral palsy who took to social media looking for love.

Dr. Jordan Fairbairn, Associate Professor of Sociology, and King’s alumna Ciara Boyd ’18 have co-written an article for The Conversation, reflecting on the widespread male violence that continues to take the lives of women and girls worldwide and about the role the media must play in fighting against femicide.

In a PressProgress article, Dr. Anisha Datta, Associate Professor of Sociology, discussed how the Ontario government contracting out “employment services” programs for social assistance recipients could be  "a step toward privatization of social assistance delivery in Ontario."

Dr. Don Kerr, Professor of Sociology, reported in an article for the London Free Press that London's birth rate, already at a record low, has dropped even more during the COVID-19 pandemic.
